Oscar With His Eyes Out

Oscar with his eyes out mutters
flings his speech beyond the wall
and dies with subtle satisfaction.

Sheep shed tears for nimble goats
Dionysus in shaggy beard
then leave rebuked forever banned.

Simple shops hide quiet still
beyond the masks and party favors,
capital memorium the image swayed;

and Oscar with his eyes out triumphs
turns reluctant spokesman for the
bright ones, tumbles in his grave.
